Excellent review of Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Excellent review of Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has been among the most talked about smartphones before and after its launch. Prior to its launch, the smartphone was a rumored favorite, fully functional to remove leaks. Now that the phone has started, people, we are included, continue to talk about how the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G has surprised us with its performance and features. What are some of the things we are talking about? We used this device for exactly two weeks before publishing this Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Does the phone really hold the "Ultra" dress? Or it may be just another development. Basically, at a price tag of Rs 1,05,990, is this the killer of the iPhone 12 Pro Max Max? Here is our update for the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Update for Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

There is a lot to talk about the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. And it should be as it is the leading smartphone of the company that packs the latest and greatest combination of hardware and software available. To begin with, let's get to the general aesthetics of the phone.

Design and display

Previously, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra might have looked exactly like its predecessor. Great Infinity-O hole-punch display even on big hands. The S21 Ultra display is now 6.8-inch, 0.1-inch smaller than before. In addition to the immersive experience that bright and bright side-by-side display I really enjoyed using the Galaxy S21 Ultra in streaming and processing content (more on this in the review camera section) on my recent trip to Triund, where I used the phone as my daily driver.

The Dynamic AMOLED screen comes with a maximum brightness of 1500 numbers, which is more than light for use even in direct sunlight. The screen supports HDR10 +, which means you get the best colors and contrast while viewing content on the screen. It has a 120Hz flexibility screen. Two small-yet major improvements here by Samsung - 120Hz in WQHD + resolution, and a flexible rating screen.

Unlike the Galaxy S20 Ultra, you can use the S21 Ultra 5G display for its high resolution and high level refresh support. I have used the phone in FHD + resolution and 120Hz all the time to get extra battery life but in case you are someone who wants to make full use of the display, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has you covered. The refresh rate of the display also changes, which means that it automatically adjusts the refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz depending on the on-screen activity. I didn’t see any stutter and the whole experience was smooth

When you turn the phone on, you'll see how it refreshes the design. Samsung has returned to the drawing board and given the Galaxy S21 Ultra a huge, basic upgrade. First things first, that color Phantom Black. We will just point out that the Galaxy S21 Ultra has the most beautiful “Black” color on any smartphone. The back panel has a matte finish, which feels like a premium touch while keeping fingerprints away.

Best of all though is the design of a camera module that makes the phone look at the top from a distance. Samsung has attached a camera strap to the phone frame, which looks quite different. Over 225 grams by weight, a long phone may feel powerful but we have heard that the weight distribution is over. I used the phone without trial because using one would hide the beautiful color and design, and that would be a shame. I also threw the phone three times but there was no scratch or crack. You can say that Corridor Gorilla Glass Victus has done its job here.

There’s also an IP68 waterproof certificate, dust resistance and dual speaker setup. Speakers are audible and clear. Like most flagships, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the S21 Ultra.

Enough about design and display, let's get to the highlight feature - Camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G has a camera system with a wide variety of functions that you can get on a smartphone so far. It has an advanced 108MP camera, 12MP ultrawide sensor, and two telephoto lenses - 10MP f / 2.4 with 3x optical zoom, and 10MP f / 4.9 with 10x zoom up to 100x digital zoom.

Flexible camera hardware is not just as powerful on paper as it is and brings it into the real world. The advanced Samsung 108MP ISOCELL HM3 sensor clicks the best images. Images taken with a large sensor offer rich, vibrant colors and lots of detail. The dynamic range and contrast are also impressive. I also liked the performance of the camera in low light. In night mode, the camera is able to store fine details in the shade without undue emphasis. Samsung is also addressing the specific issues surrounding the S20 Ultra with the Laser Autofocus. The ultrawide camera is also very good. Yes, there is little distortion at the edges but so is the case with most ultrawide shooters. However, the colors are quite accurate and the temperatures are similar to those of a large sensor.

Two telephoto lenses are not just tricks. Both integrated lenses can shoot up to 100x zoom. I was impressed with the overall performance of the two lenses. If you are looking for great, usable photos, try sticking close to 30x. Anything that goes on will lead to data loss and make noise. That being said, 100x zoom is not surprising. Depending on what you are shooting and how far it is, the camera hardware, along with the software, is able to get the best results in a decent light.

I shot a month several times during my review of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and I was constantly blown away by the results. Samsung uses AI software tricks to complement the hardware and deliver better results. Important features like focus tracking within the camera app and the help of Optical Image Stabilization to focus quickly, especially when you zoom in.

For selfies, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 40MP front camera. The photos are all sharp and detailed as expected. The colors are also very close to the real one and there is no smoothness of the skin like that. Samsung asks you when you set whether you want “Natural” or “Bright” selfies, which is a good touch, in my opinion. Portrait mode provides excellent edge detection and a plethora of modes. It mimics the iPhone's low and key keys. People on Twitter voted favoring GPS S21 Ultra photo mode compared to the iPhone 12's 12MP selfie.

How does it compare to the iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro? In terms of full color and detail, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is very close to the iPhone. While the colors of the iPhone 12 are a real close-up, the Galaxy S21 Ultra captures powerful images without filling the photos too much. The night mode performance is quite good but the Galaxy S21 Ultra gets the crown here to provide Night Mode support for all the senses. Working with Software

Prior to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung flags in India often received criticism when it came to overall performance. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G and older flagship models come with an Exynos processor in India that was not only weak compared to its Qualcomm Snapdragon counterpart but also offered better performance.

Things have changed with the Galaxy S21 Ultra's Exynos 2100. While Samsung said "Exynos is back", they may have understood this by this time. The 5nm-based Exnos 2100 is very close to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, as an online benchmark test. Even if you don’t care about rating scores, the Exynos 2100 SoC won’t disappoint you. Samsung surprised us with the full performance of the S21 Ultra 5G.

During our review of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, we played many games like Call of Duty, Asphalt 9, etc. There was not the slightest defect even in the most extreme cases. Surprisingly, this device did not get too hot during play and was only warm when touched. That’s when we recorded some videos where the upper part next to the camera module is slightly warmer.

Battery life is also amazing. With a constant speed of 120Hz with FHD + resolution, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G's 5,000 mAh battery has given me more than 6 hours of screen-time (SoT) on most days. The day I shot most photos and videos was when the battery went down within 5 hours of SoT. You may get a little juice if you use a QHD + setting with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Well, Samsung has pulled Apple here by not offering a charging adapter inside the "natural" box. It is a bummer device that costs more than a lakh and Samsung should have offered the option to combine a quick charger with a box. You can charge the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G with any charger that supports 25W fast charging. It took me a few minutes over an hour to fully charge the phone.

Performance improvements are not limited to Hardware but also software. OneUI 3.0 is very clean now and continues to be rich. Samsung's solid suit here are the luggage in the valley that goes with the performance of the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. The device also supports the S Pen now - something that was the only feature of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and its popularity. It misses a few features of the S Pen anyway and needs to be purchased separately.

Lastly, there is a built-in fingerprint scanner that quickly turns on the phone. For unknown reasons, facial expressions failed to find my face many times or I was not wearing a mask. No matter, the fingerprint scanner is the best and safest way in the world of masks and masks.

The decision

Should you buy the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

The price of the Samsung Galaxy S21 in India starts at Rs 1,05,990 at the time of writing this review. The phone is for someone who wants the best that Samsung offers. There is so much you can love about the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. It could be good design, bright display quality, excellent camera system, or powerful performance.

The Green S21 Ultra does not compromise on the key parameters we judge when it comes to smartphone recommendations. Unlike the previous features of the Galaxy, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is very close to the iPhone when it comes to full functionality - either on the camera door or performing extensive functions. There are places where we feel that the Galaxy S21 Ultra has an edge over the iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro, especially in the construction and display department. The power of the telephoto widens the gap further as the iPhone 12 Pro Max camera is only able to zoom in up to 12x digital zoom.

There are a few obstacles though. Not giving a charger even as a choice is a gun. There is also no expandable storage either. Most importantly, it is expensive. It may look like I'm nitpicking but the Galaxy S21 Ultra is a "Pro" tool that can be used even by experts as a tool for creating content. If you ignore these minor flaws, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is the best Android smartphone you can buy right now in India.
